Cape Town - Channel24 had a quick chat with WWE wrestler Braun Strowman from his hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa ahead of the WWE LIVE South Africa tour in April.

Former strongman Braun Strowman (real name Adam Joseph Scherr) was first drawn to wrestling because of the "entertainment factor."

He says: "One of the biggest draws is the fact that I get to perform in front of millions of people. I love attention and when the spotlight is on me I have to take advantage of it."

One of the greatest matches I've ever had! Much respect to this man!????

A practice he has carried with him from his former strongman days is having a strict routine. He says: "I'm meticulous about doing the same workouts over and over again. It takes out all the miscalculated errors. I know what's going to work for me."

Throughout his time one WWE, Strowman has been portrayed as the "monster among men" and is known for his ferocious fighting style.

About his character he says: "I love that I can portray someone that I'm not. I'm easy-going, keep to myself and quiet-like. It's always a challenge to push myself, but I enjoy it."

Strowman speaks about the industry with such passion and says it's "crazy" how fast the industry moves. "It sometimes gets overwhelming and I have to take a step back. I'm so blessed with all the opportunities that WWE has given me."

WWE wrestlers spend five days on the road and two days off, during his down-time Strowman tries to spend as much time outdoors. "I spend my days in cars, buses and airplanes, so on my off days I like to get away from the city life and disappear to the woods," he says.

The 34-year-old says: "It's always such a great experience to take my character around the world."

About the WWE LIVE South African tour he says he is "really, really" looking forward to spending some time in the country, as it will be his first time.

He says: "Get ready to have the roof blown off and witness something that you've never seen before."
