Chucky is back! A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

This time the doll is AI-driven instead of being possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. The new doll is driven by defective programming that turns it murderous and makes it capable of learning beyond the limitations of other dolls.

Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith and produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions (It, It: Chapter Two).

The film opens in South African cinemas on 12 July. A handful of lucky fans can each get the chance to watch the film a day before its release in South Africa.
