Cape Town - Jennifer Lawrence has found her silver lining!

The 27-year-old actress recently got engaged to New York-based art gallery director Cooke Maroney, US Weekly reports.

The pair first made headlines in June last year where they were spotted together on a casual date in New York.

Despite remaining tight-lipped about their romance, Jennifer’s reps finally confirmed that she and Cooke are officially engaged.

But who is Cooke Maroney? Here are five things worth knowing about the Oscar-winner’s 33-year-old fiancé.

1. Director of an art gallery

Jennifer’s beau is the director of New York’s Gladstone Gallery, which represents A-list clients, including Hollywood actress and director Lena Dunham’s dad, Carroll Dunham, and British sculptor Anish Kapoor, The Cut reports.

2. A mutual friend introduced them

According to E! Online, the two were introduced to each by Jennifer’s BFF, Laura Simpson. "They met through Jen’s friend Laura. The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they’ve been very private and careful not to be seen together," a source said last year, confirming the dating rumours.

3. New York social scene

Cooke has been spotted at many high-end art openings and is always hanging out in The Hamptons, known for its beaches and lively social circuit. "He goes to a lot of art-world parties," a source told The Cut.

"He’s definitely fun-loving but I wouldn’t say he’s out of control. He likes to have fun – a young good New York guy who likes to participate and have fun. When we would hang out we would definitely drink, we’d have fun," the source added.

4. A man with a university degree

The art gallery director attended New York University (NYU) where he studied art history. After graduating, he first worked at the prestigious Gagosian Gallery in New York.

5. He’s into the Taken movies

According to a source who spoke to The Cut, Cooke is really into the Taken movies. He once went to see Taken 3 in an entirely empty cinema!
