Los Angeles - Mitch Winehouse has asked everyone to pray for daughter Amy's ex-husband.
Blake Fielder-Civil - who married the late singer in May 2007 and split from her in February 2009 - is currently on a life support machine after a suspected drink and drugs binge and his former father-in-law is desperate for him to make a full recovery.
He tweeted: "Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery. Mitch."
Blake was found by girlfriend Sarah Aspin - the mother of his 15-month-old son - choking in bed and was taken to hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, with multiple organ failure.
'Thought he was going to die'
Sarah said: "The doctors don't know the prognosis and put him in a coma to help him. I'm praying he'll survive but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.
"They let me in to hold his hand after 45 minutes. I found out later that they did that because they thought he was going to die."
Blake, 30, and Amy, who died in July last year, had their divorced finalised in July 2009.
Amy - who also struggled with drug addiction - was found dead at her home in Camden, north London, at the age of just 27.
Blake has been blamed by fans and loved ones for her demise although the Rehab hitmaker's tragic death was the result of drinking too much alcohol.
A coroner said she was more than five times the drink-drive limit.
