Angelina infuriated by Brad's mom

2012-07-12 22:17
Los Angeles - Angelina Jolie is upset about Jane Pitt's stance on gay marriage.

Jane - mother of her fiance Brad Pitt - recently wrote a letter to her local paper in support of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in which she revealed she doesn't support same sex marriage or abortion, and her views have reportedly left Angelina angry.

A source told "Jane has never wanted to talk politics with Angelina. She knew it would cause greater issues for them, and she wanted to try to have a relationship with the mother of her grandkids. She never thought her letter would be such a big deal."

'Brad is a mama's boy'

Angelina and Brad are two of the most prominent gay rights campaigners in Hollywood, and at one the actor stated he wouldn't marry the Salt star until same sex marriages were made legal across the US.

If Brad won't try to change his mother's opinions, Angelina is ready to step in to try and convince her future mother-in-law to change her views.

The source added: "Angelina has told Brad he must educate his mother, but Brad is too much of a mama's boy. If Brad won't do it, Angelina will have to take matters into her own hands and talk to Jane about how, as the mother of such a prominent celebrity, she shouldn't be writing letters that clash with her son's personal opinions.

"It'll inevitably end up in a huge blowout, with Brad stuck in the middle. Brad keeps telling her not to take this so seriously, but when Angie sets her mind on something, there's no talking her out of it."

In Jane's letter, she praised Mitt for being a "family man with high morals", adding: "Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney's opponent, Barack Hussein Obama ... is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

Brad and Angelina - who raise six kids together, Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, six, and twins Knox and Vivienne, who turn four on Thursday - announced their engagement in April after seven years together.

  • amanda.victor.92 - 2012-07-13 04:46

Well I don't support gay marriage, nor do I like Obama. But that's MY opinion - live with it.

      jacovdw - 2012-07-13 07:47

Wesley, Wesley, Wesley.... How on earth do you get from "don't support gay marriage" to "hating gays"? It's like saying someone who doesn't like their steak done medium to rare, is a vegetarian!

      JohncarlosBiza - 2012-07-13 09:39

Wesley, you made complete sense. Ignore these morons

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-07-13 20:06

Nice one News 24 I report Mandy -K1s slur buyt you go and delete Wesley's comment - that makes no sense.. You're only personal political opinions shouldn't be deciding who gets posted and who doesn't.

Brad's mom has a right to her own opinion. I think Angelina must learn to live with it. People won't always agree with your point of view. It is important for the family that they just agree to disagree, and call it a taboo topic at the 'dinner table' The kids must have their Granny around and Brad's relationship with his mom must stay strong.

      QuintSch - 2012-07-13 10:52

Hey wes ... it's actually Angelina trying to force her opinion on other people with a different opinion ... like her mom-in-law. Like you are doing on this blog too. Logical consistency is ... ?

  • millionwatts1 - 2012-07-13 08:41

But many other reports claim Angelina adores Brad's mom. Tabloids!

  • JohncarlosBiza - 2012-07-13 09:41

Ms mom sounds common, if anything. Her type is slowly fading

Angelina should not force her opinions on ANYONE! America is a democratic society that will vote on these issues!! It is wrong for either side to force their ideals on the other!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should be allowed to express it without fear!!!

      marcus.steenberg.7 - 2012-07-13 15:12

Funny how when a True Christian(TM) express an opinion which is subsequently criticised, the moral majority shriek about how their right to freedom of expression is being suppressed. When however, someone from the gay lobby express an opinion even remotely supportive of gays they are told to be quiet and keep their "deviant" sexuality and ideas to themselves. There is absolutely no suggestion that Mrs Pitt was unable to express her opinion or that she could not do so without fear. Angelina has just correctly pointed out that her opinion is bigoted, irrational and hateful and that she should change it. This is no different to when someone expresses a racist opinion which is equally bigoted, irrational and hateful. Homophobia and racism = two peas in a pod. If you don't want to be criticised - then shut up. If you don't shut up then expect to be called out on your bigoted, irrational, hateful, racist opinions. Simples.

Seriously who does Angelina think she is demanding Brad change his mother's viewpoint? Ever heard of Freedom of Speech? And as for the article calling Brad a "mamma's boy", why, perhaps he just accepts his mother has a right to her views regardless of whether they agree with his or not. The US is a democratic country, allegedly, therefore anyone can express their opinion unless it is defamatory, racist etc. Get over it Angelina. I would have serious doubts about marrying someone who wanted me to "force" my mother to change her views!!!!

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-07-13 19:57

But it is the same as being racist, sexist whatever. If you hold that opinion and openly campaign for it like Mrs Pitt did then you believe that gay people should not enjoy the same civil rights as the good Christian folk.

  • ronete.mckenzie - 2012-07-13 12:00

I would just like to state one simple truth, God says do not judge but all i see is people judging. I am gay and i am legally married to a woman and i am very close to God. Instead of christains reaching out for my so called sins they kick me out of the church. Is that what Jesus would do? The bible also says that if a child disobeys his parents he should be stoned to death, do we do this? Everyone has a right to have an option but just rememeber what you say could be pushing a person futher from God.

      thandeka.mchunu.54 - 2012-07-13 13:13

the Almighty created man and he said it is not good for the man to be alone so he created a woman and he said it is man and man is not good with God and womam with woman also not Good it is condemed. Jesus said what goes into your mouth will not prevent you from heaven but what comes out will determine your place in heaven your actions as well.

  • camcamgrobler - 2012-07-13 14:07

angie has an opinion and she must learn so do other people. . . we may not agree on everything but we can learn to accept that people see things from a different point of view too.

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-07-13 15:27

There is a big difference between having an opinion and denying people the basic rights that you and I get to enjoy.

      delish7564 - 2012-07-13 17:14

@maylani. We're not talking about denying someone rights, we're talking about a "celebrity" trying to force someone to change their opinion just because said celeb has a certain viewpoint. I don't particularly agree with the way Angelina lives her life but it's exactly that, her life, not mine but that doesn't mean I have to like it. We are each entitled to our views whether other people like or agree with them or not, that doesn't make us bad people and the others good. I particularly dislike those who try to ram their beliefs down other people's throats. Who made her the Almighty? There are lots of things being said and done in this world that I neither like nor agree with but I respect other people's opinions and she needs to do the same - obviously I'm not talking about murder etc!!!,

      maylani.bezuidenhout - 2012-07-13 19:54

Huh? I was commenting on the fundamental Christian Republican 'opinion' that gay people should not be allowed to get married. When people vote these things become law and that is denying others their rights.

      lizelle.grobbelaarvanzyl - 2012-07-15 01:57

I agree with delish. So Jane is going to vote for Romney and not Obama. Its her right to say how she feels. If her son wasn't famous, she would have wrote the letter and voted the same. And we wouldn't have been the wiser.

  • bashin.monyela - 2012-07-13 17:49

Same Sex Mafia Activists, often more forceful than gay people themselves.

  • gerda.vanrensburg - 2012-07-14 13:31

Jolie must respect anyone else's opinion and not try to force hers on them.

  • stella.diesel - 2012-07-15 10:54

Brad's mother is entitled to her own opinion. Angelina should mind her own business and campaign for what she alone believes in and stop trying to force it on others. Brad's mother does not have to fall in with her or Brad's beliefs, she is also an adult with her own views.

  • elizabeth.a.illing - 2012-07-15 12:05

Mitt Romney is a Mormon....don't they condone multiple wives???

  • maria.preces.7 - 2012-07-21 13:28
