Brad Pitt treats himself to a £5m yacht

Los Angeles - Brad Pitt has splashed out on a luxury £5m yacht.

The Inglourious Basterds actor - who has set up home with Angelina Jolie and their six children in the south of France in their vast estate, Château Miraval - brought the boat after selling a share of their French vineyard to famous winemaker Marc Perrin.

The couple's wine venture has already proven a huge success after selling out in just five hours and it is believed Brad's friend, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, will help him charter the 22m yacht out to wealthy individuals while he's away filming.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Brad's always wanted a classic sail yacht and this one is perfect. It sleeps eight but you can have more on board if you are just going out for a day.

''He loves the idea of taking the kids out around the islands along the coast of the South of France near St Tropez.''

The 49-year-old is also believed to be spending £1.5m on a romantic Caribbean wedding.

According to Now magazine their highly anticipated marriage is likely to take place in the next few months after Brad picked up the couple's wedding lisence last month, which leaves them just 90 days to walk down the aisle.
