Gareth Cliff kicks off his new show!

Johannesburg - Entertainment phenomenon Gareth Cliff will be debuting his new venture at 07:35 on Comedy Central on Thursday morning.

The Gareth Cliff Show Live on Comedy Central will be amply packed with stuff that's in the news and on people's minds - either lampooned as bits on the show, or brought into our world by our community of callers.

Gareth Cliff will share stuff from his own life and real, honest, hilarious stories from the team while encouraging celebrity and non-celebrity guests to open up about their own stories and opinions.

There will also be discussions around your favourite TV shows, including Comedy Central's own hits Daily Show with Jon Stewart and South Park, and comical video clips from the internet and elsewhere.

“The Gareth Cliff Show Live on Comedy Central is thrilling, no-holds-barred TV that imports the unpredictability, excitement and insanity of live radio onto TV, with viewers never knowing what’s going to happen next – so get ready to hang on, and enjoy the ride,” Evert van der Veer, Head of Comedy Central Africa, said.

The highlights of episode 1 include a chat about the day’s big news stories with Gareth and the team, a catch up with the presenters post 5FM, including the revelation of deep dark secrets from Gareth, Leigh-Ann, Damon, Siya and Mabale, an interview with Gareth’s mom and dad, the ceremonial burning of Gareth’s old SABC card and a lively viewer interaction/phone in section.

Anticipated guests in the first week of broadcast include Julius Malema, Prof Van Rooyen (Head of BCCSA), Casper de Vries, Kagiso Lediga, Nomvula Mokonyane, and Jonty Searle, among others.
