Los Angeles - The masseur who accused John Travolta of sexual assault wishes him nothing but "good health and happiness".

The accuser, known only as John Doe #1, is one of two men who are suing the actor for $2m after claiming he sexually harassed them after they were hired to give him massages but he has called for people to wait for a court ruling before taking sides and says he has no ill feelings towards the star.

In a statement to, he said: "As the unidentified masseur in the John Travolta case I have an opinion that I wanted to share.

'Absolute fairness'

"I don't think anyone should form any opinion about Mr Travolta, his family, his counsel, myself, John Doe #2, and our counsel. Instead, I would urge everyone to understand that guilt or innocence in our Justice System is decided by our court system.

"Too often these matters are decided by swaying public opinion through elements that would never be considered in an actual court case.

"Even though Mr Travolta and his counsel are on opposing sides in this matter, I do wish them good health, happiness, and want them to be judged with absolute fairness as our great nation affords all citizens regardless of their wealth or station."

He also cast doubt on photographs, receipts and flights records which have emerged, appearing to prove that John, 58, was in New York on 16 January when the alleged incident occurred in Los Angeles, saying that things are not always as they seem.

He added: "A photograph, a restaurant receipt, testimony, and other things that may or may not constitute proof have strict guidelines that must be followed. A fine example is the amazing number of guilty people that escape their crimes due to the mishandling of evidence. Is it disappointing, of course it is, but it is a price we must pay in order to have a justice system that runs in a constitutional manner.

"In consideration of that, I ask the public to not judge anyone, and allow all parties to work things out in a respectful and dignified manner, and if these matters do go to court than only that final decision past appeals, etc should be considered a definitive statement on 'guilt' or 'innocence'.'"

John - a devout Scientologist - has been married to Kelly Preston since 1991. Their oldest child Jett died in 2009 at the age of 17 and they have two other kids Ella Blue, 11, and 23-month-old Benjamin.

What does he mean let the court decide guilt or innocence? If he is telling the truth then he should be 100% convinced of guilt. Something fishy going on here.

Quite frankly I do not believe the allegations. John is too ethical a person, having met him myself many, many years ago. I think it is a ploy to extort money from John and suddenly others, John Doe #2 and #3 decide to jump on the bandwagon that ever gave John massages. Just as Micheal Jackson was falsely accused for homosexual behavior, at the end of the day non of it was true. Hence I would not believe any of these allegations. H.V.
