John Travolta's 'lover' speaks out

Los Angeles - John Travolta's former pilot claims that he and the Saturday Night Fever star had an affair for six years.

According to a report by the US tabloid National Enquirer, the 62-year-old Doug Gotterba claims that he and the 58-year-old actor had a passionate affair in the 1980s.

Gotterba claims in the interview that the actor's "sexual appetite was insatiable, that he wanted to make a sex tape and that he enjoyed cavorting with multiple male partners at a time".

'I still prefer men'

After Travolta married Kelly Preston, Gotterba met up with Travolta again and allegedly confronted the actor about his sexuality.

"They’d just gotten back from the Church of Scientology's Celebrity Centre in Hollywood when I arrived and John asked me to go with him for a walk on the beach. We were making small talk when I suddenly blurted out: 'So John, tell me. Now that you’re married, do you still prefer men, or woman?'

"He looked me straight in the eye and said: 'Well Doug. I still prefer men.'"

Gotterba claims this was the last time that he ever saw Travolta again.

Former assistant also made claims

This interview comes three months after Travolta's former assistant Joan Edwards also made claims of the same nature in an interview with the National Enquirer. Edwards was Travolta's secretary from 1978 to 1994 and is the first former employee who announced to the public that she believed that the actor is gay.

"I did everything for him, including taking care of his personal and professional schedules. Of course I knew he was gay. It never bothered me," she told the Enquirer.

She was also aware of Travolta's relationship with Gotterba, who began working for the actor in 1981. According to Edwards, Gotterba told her that Travolta is gay and that they had a sexual relationship.

The celebrity Scientologist was also accused in recent months of sexually harassment by a number of men.
