Kate Middleton's whopping hospital bill

London  - Duchess Catherine's hospital birth could cost £10 000 (R158 000).

The pregnant royal - who is due to give birth next month - is expected to have her and Prince William's baby in the exclusive Lindo Wing at St Mary's hospital in Paddington, west London, and her private suite may command a five-figure fee.

The best care

Expectant mums who choose to give birth in the wing will be treated to luxury and top-of-the-line care from a dedicated maternity team including experts in obstetric, neonatal and anaesthetist care, according to the MailOnline.

All the extras

Each suite boasts a satellite TV, bedside phone, a fridge, a radio and even a safe to lock away valuable items.

Catherine, 31, will also have access to the internet and a selection of newspapers which will be delivered to her suite each morning.

Staff on call

And should the duchess have any final pregnancy cravings before the birth, the Lindo Wing's dedicated kitchen staff are available on call at all times and are able to meet various dietary requirements.

Duchess Catherine and Prince William, 30, will also be able to toast the birth of their heir with a glass of champagne chosen from an extensive wine list, which is made available to patients.

It was revealed yesterday that the royal couple do not yet know the gender of their impending bundle of joy as they want it to be a surprise.
