Katy Perry to go into 'major hiding'

Los Angeles - Katy Perry is planning to go into "major hiding".

The Wide Awake  singer - who split from husband Russell Brand in December 2011 after 14 months of marriage - wants to take a break from the limelight after promoting her new film Katy Perry: Part Of Me though she has no idea where she will go.

Katy said: "I'm going to go into major hiding. I think I'll have to after this movie comes out.

"I am going to get a globe and spin it and point my finger at a place and then head there.

"I have always wanted to do that since I was a little kid."

'Needs to let heart heal'

The hardworking star reportedly also told her entourage that she needs an "extended break" from her career as she "needs to let her heart heal".

Katy, 27, embarked on a gruelling year-long California Dreams  world tour last year, playing 124 shows across the globe.

She has struggled to find time to deal with her split from funnyman Russell, 36, after the British comedian filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences".

The Teenage Dream  singer - who is now dating Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd - hints in her new fly-on-the-wall film that her marriage breakdown was due to Russell feeling threatened by her commitment to her career.

She confessed: "I thought to myself, 'When I find that person that's going to be my life partner, I won't ever have to choose between the partner and my career. They won't be threatened or have weird motives.
'
"Then I started to realise, that's not true'."
