Kim Kardashian West says Bruce Jenner has found "inner peace" since announcing his gender transition.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has admitted she doesn't "fully understand" what her stepfather is going through but insists she doesn't need to and is just glad he is happy.

She said: "I'm really happy for him that he is living his life the way he wants to live it. And that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness. That's what life is about.

"I don't know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren't yourself. I know it's not something that you or I could really fully understand, but I don't even think we have to. "Until that transition is done, we've learned that you do refer to him as him. He's been really, really good at explaining everything to us, even though it's really new. These have been newer feelings - not newer feelings for him, but for us to digest. He's done a really good job of walking us through it."

The 65-year-old former Olympian confirmed on Friday that he had undergone a gender transition but Kim, 34, admits the family are still making "adjustments".

She said: "I think there is still an adjustment and there's family therapy and we're really close.

"I see reports that say, you know, this one doesn't support him, and this one's over here and my mom feels this way, and it's all really so made up. We all really support him. But is it a hard adjustment? Yes."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star tweeted her support to her stepfather following his interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer.

Kim's sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian also took to the social media site to support him.
