Lindsay Lohan arrested after accident

Los Angeles - Lindsay Lohan has been arrested in New York early on Wednesday morning after allegedly knocking a pedestrian with her Porsche - and subsequently fleeing the scene of the crime.

TMZ reports that officials arrested Lindsay after the man was knocked down while she attempted to park her Porsche in front of a hotel. The victim, a 34-year-old Hispanic male, was hospitalised with a knee injury and later released, according to reports.

Bystanders told TMZ that one of Lindsay's passengers got out of the car to the check if the collision had damaged her car. The group left soon after and entered the hotel.

Terms of probation broken

Police were soon called to the scene of the accident and Lindsay was arrested 30 minutes after the accident took place.

She has since been released, after being booked with a misdemeanor charge for fleeing the scene of an accident.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the incident and the actress was not administered a sobriety test while detained.

This newest run-in with law officials could mean Lindsay's conditions of probation have to be investigated. According to her conditions as set out in a previous hearing, the actress has to obey all laws and may not break any violations.

Earlier this week, Lindsay took to her Twitter to express her disgust with Amanda Bynes' string of violations, none of which have resulted in an arrest.

The former Disney star has had her fair share of run-ins with the law and has served jail time for crimes committed behind the wheel and doesn't think it's fair that fellow actress Amanda has not yet been arrested for her ongoing driving indiscretions.
