Mother City to be invaded by space cowboys

2013-12-13 10:21
Cape Town – Not since the movie Cowboys and Aliens have we seen a cyber-western mash-up like this!

Grab your spurs and space helmets and get aboard the rocket ship to this year’s MCQP in Cape Town.

The Mother City Queer Project's (MCQP) Space Cowboys party, celebrating 20 years of diversity, is certainly going to be the fanciest glitter event that the Mother City or possibly the world may ever see.

MCQP, established in 1994 as a tribute to South Africa’s constitution, freedom of speech and rich diversity, was inspired by Nelson Mandela himself.

MCQP will pay homage to Tata Madiba, the father of a free and inclusive South Africa – a country where everyone matters, no matter what their race, sexuality, religion or convictions and ask that everyone join  in a minute of silence at 22:00 during the event, to pay respect to the Mandela family.

MCQP will also have a special commemorative area in honour of Tata Madiba, where visitors to the twentieth Mother City Queer Project can pay respect to the father of our rainbow nation on Saturday, 14 December, and leave their comments and written tributes.
