Nick Carter to become a dad

Los Angeles - Nick Carter and his wife are expecting their first child together.

The Backstreet Boys singer and fitness expert and actress Lauren Kitt - who tied the knot in 2014 - will welcome a baby next year.

A source told Us Weekly: "They are so happy and overjoyed. They've been trying and waiting for such a long time."

Nick and Lauren, 32, met in 2013 and the 35-year-old singer admitted his wife changed his opinion on marriage after he had previously vowed never to tie the knot.

Meanwhile, Nick - who had a troubled childhood and is estranged from his parents - has credited his bandmates, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell, with giving him the family that he never had.

The Dancing With the Stars contestant said: "They became the family that I didn't really have at that time. All the other guys had great families and great morals, and things that I could connect to and learn from, and really reflect with my own family. I was really able to learn from the guys."
