Nico Panagio says God told him to adopt kids

Cape Town - Survivor SA presenter Nico Panagio exclusively opened up to celebrity news magazine heat about the gift of adopting after years of unsuccessfully trying to conceive, and how he clearly heard the voice of God on what he and wife Christi should do.

"For years Panagio fans have been waiting for the announcement that Nico and Christi were pregnant. However, as Nico revealed to heat, it was a combination of stress and the fact that Christi had to be treated for endometriosis that the joyful news never materialised," Andre Neveling, editor of heat, said.

Panagio says that despite the disorder, they kept trying, including experimenting with a variety of natural remedies, weird sexual positions and artificial insemination.

"As a devout Christian, Nico turned to God, questioning why they weren’t blessed with children of their own, naturally seething with anger. Nico says that when he asked God why He doesn’t want their children, he heard without a doubt God saying to him ‘Don’t you want mine?’. It was then that one of South Africa’s most beautiful celebrity couples knew what they had to do," says Neveling.

The proud Panagios are now the parents of two adopted children, Evah, 3, and Shay, 1.

"Some people just weren’t meant to conceive naturally, but rather become parents of those children who have none," Panagio told heat.

Panagio also reveals in heat whether they are planning to adopt more children, how the adoption impacted on their personal and professional lives, and who the good cop and bad cop is in the family, amongst others.
