In a surprise move, the couple also invited Kanye's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, who got into a heated war of words with Khloé on Twitter earlier this year after she slammed Tyga, 25, for dumping her friend Blac Chyna for Kylie, 18, to the event.

While the night appears to have been a huge success, cue Kanye and momma Kris to take a power nap on the couch... Thousands of residents in the area complained after being woken up by their giant fireworks display at midnight.

A source told TMZ that city officials have launched an investigation to find out how Khloé and James obtained a permit for the spectacle, which lasted 15 minutes.

The L.A. department that normally issues permits for fireworks in the marina says it would never allow such a display to take place on a Tuesday night, but it was far enough off shore to be outside city jurisdiction.
