SA bombshell is Holland's 2011 Playmate

Cape Town - A former Cape Town schoolgirl has been named Holland's Playmate of the Year for 2011, reports Timeslive.

Men's magazine, Playboy announced the result earlier this year.

Zimra Geurts, 20, was born in Utrecht, Holland, but once attended Herzlia High School in Thornton, Cape Town, where she was staying with her grandmother.

Timeslive reported that she was personally congratulated by Hugh Hefner when she clinched the Playmate title earlier this year.

In the magazine she is pictured lying among hay bales wearing only a pair of clogs.

The aspirant model has not forgotten the two years she spent studying in South Africa after the failure of her parents' marriage.

"I have so many fun memories of Herzlia, especially of the friends I made there. My favourite subjects were definitely acting and Afrikaans - it's similar to Dutch in a funny way so that always made me laugh," she told the news site.

'We're very proud'

Her South African based family members are not bothered by her featuring nude in the magazine. Instead, they are excited about her achievements.

Her aunt, Gillian Emergui, told SundayTimes: "We're very proud and very happy for her. Initially it was a bit shocking - but she's blossoming. Besides, we've always been a very musical and entertaining family.

"As long as she's happy we're really proud," added her grandmother Anita Kassel.

Geurts' mother is South African and her father is Dutch. She now lives in Toronto, Canada, where she intends to launch her modelling career.
