Shane Warne's ex wishes him luck

Lso Angeles - Shane Warne's ex-wife has wished him luck in his engagement to Elizabeth Hurley.

Simone Callaghan - who was divorced from the retired cricketer but still with living him when details of his new relationship came to light earlier this year - has no hard feelings towards the couple, though she admits news they plan to wed came as a "shock".

She said: "I wish Shane nothing but luck. It's his life and he can do what he wants."

Simone also hinted her split from Shane has taken its toll on their three children, Brooke, 14, Jackson, 12, and 10-year-old Summer, particularly as he is now spending more time in the UK with Elizabeth and her nine-year-old son Damian.

Synchronise

She told Australia's Woman's Day magazine: "They might hear things from kids at school and come home and ask, 'What is happening?' But if you're honest with them and tell them how it is, kids are pretty resilient.

"I feel for them more than anything but they're used to him being away for long periods anyway.

"We'll just work on an arrangement where Shane has longer periods of time when he is back here."

At the weekend, Elizabeth revealed she and Shane understand each other and their respective commitments because they are both parents, insisting their respective children come first.

She said: "It definitely helps that Shane has three children - and he's a very good dad. We both understand that if there's a child's football game one of us can't miss, then that's it, it's not up for negotiation, we go home and do it. I think it would be difficult for me to be with somebody who didn't have kids.

"We have to make a lot of diary entries; Damian's school dates, Shane's children's school dates, Shane's work dates, my work dates. It's a lot to synchronise."
