Steve Martin: 1st time dad at 67

2013-02-13 15:27
Los Angeles - Steve Martin has become a father for the first time at the age of 67.

The movie funnyman and his wife Anne Stringfield, 41, welcomed a baby into their lives in December and although they have managed to keep their happy news a secret the couple have been spotted doting on the tot near their Los Angeles home.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "They've had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows. Steve's very private. They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby."

Steve - who played a father of 12 in the comedy movie Cheaper By The Dozen - and Anne married in July 2007 after three years together.

The ceremony took place at Steve's Los Angeles home with former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerrey presiding over the ceremony, while Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels was best man.

Guests, who included Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton, did not know the couple were getting hitched and instead thought they had been invited to a party.

A representative for the actor would not comment on the baby news.

Me and my wife are battling to have a baby and I am 43 she is 38.People always say if you reach this age its over.I wonder how they got it right she is also 41.It is harder for a woman at that age to have a baby than a man that is older to make a baby.I don't know how they done it in the Bible times.Abraham was a 100y and Sarah 90y wow.Its not impossible.

I think that he is too old to be a dad! Everyone will think he is the child's grandpa! When the child turns 18 he will be 85!!! (or dead)

And what formula is that worked on, I would rather have a great DAD in my life for 10 years or more than an absent father for 20+ years. Older men in general have more quality time to spend with their kids................
