Los Angeles - Kris Jenner thinks her new granddaughter's name is sweet.
The 57-year-old reality TV star revealed that she fell in love with the little girl's name, North West, once her daughter Kim Kardashian explained the meaning behind her new baby's unusual moniker.
Speaking on The View on Tuesday, Kris explained: "I love the name North. I'm pro North, absolutely.
"The way she (Kim) explained it to me was that North means highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together and I thought that was really sweet."
Not an airline
Kris also confirmed that Kardashian does not feature in the tot's name, and brushed off suggestions that it sounds like an airline.
She said: "It's North West, but you don't walk around calling somebody, 'Hi North West', it's just North."
The family matriarch laughed when co-host Barbara Walters asked whether Kim and her rapper boyfriend Kanye West would call their other children, South West and East West, and admitted she isn't sure whether they have nicknamed their first child Nori.
The nickname
She said: "I think they do have a nickname. I don't know what they've decided on."
Kris also said that Kim and Kanye, whose daughter was born five weeks early in Los Angeles on 15 June, are adjusting well to parenthood, saying: "They're cute."
