This is the one restaurant in Cape Town where all the international stars like to eat

Cape Town – On Monday afternoon Sean Penn was spotted having a relaxing lunch in a beautiful garden of a well-known restaurant in Cape Town.

On Tuesday evening Homeland star, Claire Danes, was seen dining at the same venue. Where is this magical place in Cape Town where all Hollywood’s A-listers like to hang out?

In Kloof Street of course. Café Paradiso is the gentle tonic our daily lives forget.

This stunning venue is about family values, long held traditions, warm welcoming hospitality and wholesome goodness.

A beautiful garden setting with breathtaking mountain views,  an inviting serene interior encourage
relaxed, leisurely dining experiences and gentle celebrations.

It’s no surprise then that it’s the place to be seen when you’re visiting the Mother City.

Channel24 did some investigating and got loads more deets!

Except for Claire Danes and Sean Penn have there been any other celebs at the restaurant?

Definitely, this year alone we served Mos Def, Kris Kristofferson and Masterchef Australia judge/chef Marco Pierre White.  We’ve also served Blake Lively, Chris Pine, Denzel Washington and Hilary Swank.

And it’s not just Café Paradiso, Madame Zingara’s other restaurants are also celeb hot-spots. The Bombay Bicycle Club regularly entertains A-listers. We’ve had Ryan Reynolds in the house, the cast of Mad Max (including our very own Charlize Theron) and a bunch of international DJ’s as well.

Local celebs also love the Zingara eateries. Jo-Anne Strauss is a regular at Paradiso and The Bombay has served DJ Fresh, Arno Carstens, Jeannie D and a whole bunch of other local stars.

What’s the most popular dish that the celebs love?

We can’t really say that there’s a specific dish the celebs tend to order. But they seem to enjoy our grill selection. Sean Penn enjoyed our sirloin while other celebs have ordered the beef fillet medallions and the bacon wrapped kudu loin. At the Bombay Bicycle Club the obvious favourite is the Chocolate Chili Steak as well as our infamous ribs.

Why do you think the restaurant is such a celeb magnet?

Kloof Street (where Bombay and Paradiso is) in general seems to be a hot spot for celebs. Maybe because it’s not as buzzing as other parts of Cape Town and it has a more local feel to it. Café Paradiso has a fantastic view of Table Mountain so the backdrop setting of the restaurant is great.

We also try not to harass any celebs that come through our doors. We treat them as if they were regular customers and for the most part, other patrons also don’t bother them. Madame Zingara’s restaurants are known for their unique dining experiences (especially The Bombay Bicycle Club) and great food – so that might also be an attraction.

Do the celebs tip well?

We never kiss and tell. :) But all the celebs we’ve encountered at our restaurant have been incredibly friendly and warm.
