Tom Hardy becomes a father for the second time

Los Angeles - Tom Hardy has become a father for the second time.

The Legend actor and his wife Charlotte Riley, 33, have welcomed their first child together, just weeks after they revealed they were expecting, according to the MailOnline.

The couple - who got married in July 2014 - announced they were having a baby together when Charlotte flaunted her baby bump as she walked the red carpet with Tom for the UK premiere of his new movie, Legend, in London last month.

Tom - who already has seven-year-old son Louis with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed - recently said he takes "great pride" in being a father and thoroughly enjoys parenthood.

He said: "Being a father has given me the kind of purpose that makes you think more carefully about how you live your life. I made a lot of mistakes and I put my mum and dad through a lot because they were so worried about me.

"I take great pride in being a father and make sure I'm there for him and helping him as he makes his way in the world."

And the 37-year-old star believes becoming a parent when he did made him a lot less selfish and reassess his priorities.

He said: "It's the best thing I could have wished for. I was very self-indulgent for a long time and I was only thinking about my own stupid stuff and myself. Having a child lifts you out of that selfish behaviour."
