Tori Spelling takes to Twitter to thank fans and says she's 'on the mend'

Los Angeles - Tori Spelling has revealed she is "on the mend" after being hospitalised.

The 41-year-old star was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Saturday after suffering a coughing fit and she has now taken to her Twitter account, perhaps via her husband Dean McDermott as she is said to be in quarantine, to thank her supporters and reveal he is helping her through the ordeal.

She wrote: "Thx 4 all of ur love & support while I'm in the hospital. Dean is w/me and will help me tweet while I'm on the mend. (sic)"

Upon her admittance to hospital, she was reportedly placed in quarantine amid fears she had contracted respiratory virus Enterovirus, which has been linked to seven deaths in the US after breaking out in 46 states.

A source told MailOnline: "Tori was not only admitted to the hospital, she was put under quarantine and neither Dean nor the children are allowed anywhere near her for fear she may have contracted the contagious non-polio Enterovirus.

"She's had a cough and low grade fever for more than a week now, but refused to see a doctor. She's been filming her show, and she and Dean worked hard on a birthday bash last weekend for their daughter Hattie, so Tori wasn't about to call off the party because she didn't feel well.

"Tori has been feeling sick for at least a week. She was coughing and complained of being short - winded. She had a fever, but when it skyrocketed past 101 this weekend, Dean insisted she go to the Emergency Room where doctors quickly admitted her."

As a result of her hospitalisation, the TV star - who was hospitalised in May because she was reportedly suffering from dehydration - has been forced to cancel her promotional tour for the second season of her Lifetime reality show True Tori, which premieres on 21 October.
