Los Angeles - Zayn Malik is appearing alongside Edvard Munch's The Scream at an art exhibition in London.

The painting, depicting the reaction to the 22-year-old star leaving One Direction, will be shown at the Edge of the Canvas series at the O2 Arena.

It will sit alongside other subverted classic masterpieces, including a Shoreditch hipster version of Van Gogh's Self Portrait and Jan Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring sitting next to Boris Johnson on a London bus, all created by artists Pure Evil and Paul Kalarske.

Pure Evil said: "Taking timeless pieces that I have always admired and reimagining and adding to them has been a motivating challenge."

The art is now on show at the Pure Evil Gallery in Shoreditch.
