Cape Town - Pop superstars Adele and Harry Styles just made one waiter’s New Year a very happy one indeed by leaving a massive £1 500 (about R27 900) tip.
The artists have been holidaying in the Caribbean along with fellow British entertainer James Corden (41), Mirror UK reports.
During a meal at a restaurant called the Caribbean Fish Market, the group ran up a bill of $472,50 (R6 757).
The 31-year-old singer and Harry ended up tipping four times as much as their meal had cost, leaving a handwritten note saying, “Happy New Year” on the receipt, Metro UK reports.
A snap of the bill was shared on Instagram by a local bartender – and it quickly went viral.
"When Harry Styles and Adele give your friend a nice 2020 New Year’s tip,” the bartender wrote in his caption.
Adele and Harry were spotted hanging out at a beach bar and while the fact that they were holidaying together initially sparked dating rumours, fans pointed out that the two had been friends for years.
