Alex Rodriguez shares emotional message to Jennifer Lopez after Golden Globes loss

Cape Town – Jennifer Lopez may not have taken home the Golden Globe on Sunday, but Alex Rodriguez couldn't be prouder of his soon-to-be wife.

J-Lo walked the red carpet at the 2020 awards ceremony with the former professional baseball player. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for her performance in Hustlers. 22 years before she was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Selena.

J-Lo got choked up on the red carpet talking to Entertainment Tonight just thinking about her 1998 appearance. When asked what she would tell that girl who lost that say she said, "Don't give up, keep going. It doesn't matter what happens tonight, you're still a winner."

A-Rod echoed those words when he took to Instagram after the awards, gushing about the El Anillo singer. "Jen, it doesn't take a trophy, medal, or plaque to identify a true champion," he said.

"To millions of young women who have watched you and have been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in their lives, you are a champion. For countless musicians, dancers, actresses, and performers who have seen and emulate your passion, drive and work ethic to find their own success, you are a champion. To your children, your family, your coaches, your staff, and your extended family, you are a champion," he added, before concluding, "To everyone whose lives you enrich daily, you are a champion. And don't you ever forget it."
