Alabama — Reality television star June "Mama June" Shannon was arrested on drug charges.
According to People, Mama June's boyfriend Eugene Doak was also arrested on Wednesday, 13 March, at a gas station in Macon County where he was heard threatening her.
The couple were engaged in a heated argument when Police arrived and arrested Eugene for domestic violence/harassment, felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, TMZ reports. Mama June was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Al.com says the criminal complaint states the two had crack cocaine and a crack pipe.
Both are charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
A spokesperson for the Macon County District Attorney’s Office says Mama June's preliminary hearing is scheduled for 27 March.
Shortly after her arrest, Mama June took to Twitter to live tweet a new episode of Mama June: From Not to Hot. Before sharing details about the show, the 39-year-old apologised for starting her live tweet late.
