Cape Town – The University of Texas just gave Matthew McConaughey the title of professor.
In case you didn't know, the Dallas Buyers Club actor has been a visiting instructor for the University of Texas at Austin's Moody College of Communication since 2015, but has now been appointed a professor for the Department of Radio-Television-Film.
According to the UT News site, Matthew will be lecturing the Script to Screen film production class – for which he developed the curriculum himself. On the course, he said, "It's the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them.
"Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art – no matter the time or generation. The elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus."
The director of marketing and communications for the Moody College of Communications, Kathleen Mabley, told E! News, "He'll still teach the same class, Script to Screen, but now as an official employee he has the ability to also mentor students, explore teaching other classes and participate in all of the University events."
*Nervous scrambling*
Uh, where can we sign up?
