We all wonder if we will ever find “the one” or if that person even exists and believe it or not, Amal was thinking the very same thing until she met George Clooney.
“It felt like the most natural thing in the world,” Amal says of building a relationship with George.
“Before that experience, I always hoped there could be love that was overwhelming and didn’t require any weighing or decision-making.
“It’s the one thing in life that I think is the biggest determinant of happiness, and it’s the thing you have the least control over. Are you going to meet this person?” she continues.
And George was very much on the same page as Amal at the time.
“If you know anything about my crazy life, you know that I’d pretty much committed to the idea of never marrying again. But I started dating Amal, and I immediately knew that something was very different.”
And the moment he realised she was the one? “Some giraffes walked up to her. They just came out of the blue. I took a picture of her, and she was smiling. I said to my buddy Ben, ‘You know, I think I should ask her to marry me.’ And Ben said, ‘I think that’s a good idea,’” George recalls.
The couple tied the knot in Venice, Italy in September 2014. They welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in June 2017.
