Cape Town - It seems in the space of just a few days, the pop star has managed to put her whirlwind romance behind her.

During her performance of The Wizard and I on NBC’s A Very Wicked Halloween musical on Tuesday, 16 October, Ariana (25) coldly covered up the tattoo of Pete’s name on her ring finger with a plaster.

Her R1.3m engagement ring also missing, reports Us Weekly.

The pair called off their four-month engagement on 14 October, with the death of her former beau Mac Miller (26) on 7 September reportedly having played a role in the unravelling of their relationship, writes People magazine.

An insider revealed that the No Tears Left to Cry singer needed time to recover from everything that had happened in the recent past.

“It was way too much too soon. It's [The breakup] not shocking to anyone,” they said.

The singer’s team told the news outlet in September: “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much-needed time to heal and mend.

“She’ll be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Pete (24) was also spotted out for the first time on Wednesday, 17 October, with a source close to the comedian saying he’s doing fine and focusing on himself, reports E! News.

The insider adds that the Saturday Night Live star is currently staying with family in New York.
