Cape Town - How cute is this! Turns out Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a longtime fan of his new future son-in-law Chris Pratt (39).

The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom actor recently announced his engagement to the Terminator Genisys star’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

The former California governor shared his congratulations on the opening of Chris’ film, Jurassic World, back in 2015, tweeting: “I’m right next to friggin’ CHRIS PRATT. Congrats on the monster opening weekend, @prattprattpratt. You deserve it.”

According to a source, Chris went the traditional route before popping the question to the 29-year-old author, US weekly reports.

“Chris asked for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s permission around Christmas,” an insider dished, adding, “Maria helped him with the proposal.”

Former journalist Maria is also over-the-moon with her daughter’s engagement, gushing on Chris’ Instagram post.

“Congratulations to two loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, spirtual people. We are so happy for you. You are blessed as is everyone who knows you . . . yes let’s go,” the 63-year-old wrote.

Meanwhile Chris’ ex, actress Anna Faris, whom he split from in August 2017, has given her blessing to the pair and has even jokingly offered to officiate over their wedding, Cosmopolitan reports.

In her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, she revealed: “Chris texted me this morning and he was like, you know, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night’. I was like ‘Ah! That’s amazing’. And I texted him back, ‘Just want to remind you, I’m an ordained minister’.”

However she then joked she’s “not very good” at officiating weddings. She said she knew “sweet Chris” was ready to propose, adding: “I love her, and I love him, and I’m just so happy that they found each other.”
