Cape Town - Actress Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillipe, just revealed her new boyfriend – and fans think he looks just like her father, actor Ryan Phillipe.

The 19-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday, 9 June, to share an adorable snap with her boyfriend, Owen Mahoney, during a date night at the Cinespia outdoor cinema at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Shortly after making her relationship Insta official, the teenager’s followers were quick to point out that her beau looks just like her 44-year-old dad.

“He looks so much like your dad omg,” one person wrote.

“Is it just me or does her new beau have a little bit of Ryan in him?” another follower wrote.

“I thought this was a throwback pic of Reese [Witherspoon] and Ryan [Phillippe],” a third person commented.

But Ava, who resembles her A-lister mom, seemed to have disagreed with most of her followers, E Online reports.

“He does not look like your dad,” one person commented, to which she responded, “Big thx.”

Ava and Owen reportedly both attend the University of California in Berkeley and recently completed their freshman year.

During an interview with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Reese revealed that she struggled emotionally when her daughter left for university, US Weekly reports.

“It’s weird when your children go away to college. It’s hard,” Reese said.

“I never imagined how it felt for my mom. I might’ve gone into her empty room, laid down on her bed and cried when she went to college. But it’s okay, she’s coming back.”

Reese and Ryan met at her 21st birthday party in 1996 and tied the knot three years later. The pair, who share two children, Ava and Deacon, decided to call it quits in October 2006.
