Bey’s ‘twin peek’ release a megahit

“We would like to share our love and happiness,” announced US singer and multiple Grammy award winner Beyoncé Knowles, telling the world about her second pregnancy as only Queen B could – by releasing an Instagram shot on Wednesday of her half-naked body, proudly showing off her rounded tummy.

“We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes,” she went on to add in the Instagram caption.

Clad in lingerie and a veil, and kneeling in front of a large floral wreath, the “Single Ladies” hitmaker cradles her baby bump in the colourful photo.

This is not the first time the star has dramatically announced her pregnancy.

She famously told the world about her first pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

She unbuttoned her sequinned tuxedo jacket at the end of her performance of Love On Top, dropped her mic and rubbed her belly.

The latest photo generated more than 1.2 million likes on Instagram within 30 minutes and more than 2.4 million in an hour.

Another pop star, Selena Gomez, currently holds the record for the most-liked photo on Instagram, with 6.3 million and counting.

This week, Beyoncé broke that record in less than eight hours.

More than half a million tweets were sent about the news within 45 minutes of Beyoncé’s reveal.

On Twitter, #Twins also became a trending topic a few minutes after the announcement.

The singer will probably make her first red carpet appearance following the announcement at this year’s Grammys, to be held on February 12, where she has been nominated for nine awards.

It is unclear when she is due to give birth, but Beyoncé is expected to headline the Coachella music festival, held annually in California, taking place from April 14 to 16.

Beyoncé, 35, and husband Jay Z, 47, wed in 2008 and are parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy. Soon-to-be big sister Blue appeared in a batch of photos that Beyoncé released on her personal website on Thursday. – Variety.com
