Cape Town - Brad Pitt is shutting down dating rumours and denies being involved with any of the women he’s been linked to since his 2016 split from Angelina Jolie.

In a recent interview for The New York Times newspaper’s Great Performers issue, the 55-year-old actor got candid about those pesky dating rumours, FOX news reports.

The Ad Astra star has been linked to a number of famous women, including Jennifer Lawrence, Sienna Miller, Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron, according to Canoe.com.

Last year, rumours swirled that he was dating MIT professor Neri Oxman and more recently fans have been wondering if he and Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat are an item, msn.com reports.

When asked whether he reads stories about himself, Brad said he’s always shocked to read about his latest romance.

"I don’t know how many women they’ve said I’ve been dating the past two or three years," the Once upon a Time in Hollywood actor said.

"And none of it’s true."

The father of six also revealed his approach to avoiding negative publicity when it comes to his projects, saying he "stopped reading all press" around 2004.

The Oscar-winning film producer went on to tell the outlet that he spent most of the '90s smoking marijuana.

"I was too uncomfortable with all the attention," he admits.

"Then I got to a place where I was aware I was imprisoning myself. Now I go out and live life, and generally people are pretty cool."
