Cape Town - Did Brad Pitt just pretend as if the world doesn’t know who he is by wearing a name tag?

The Hollywood star turned heads at the annual Oscars luncheon after he was spotted proudly wearing the item of identification.

The 56-year-old actor attended the prestigious awards show event after being nominated for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, E! News reports.

Many of his fans, who noticed the quirky detail to his outfit, took to Twitter to share some of their hilarious reactions to the moment, Glamour reports.

“Imagine meeting Brad Pitt – and he's wearing a name tag, identifying him as ‘Brad Pitt’,” one user wrote, sharing a snap captured of Brad chatting to fellow Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo.

“"Hi, my name is Brad Pitt, in case you didn't see the name tag." – Brad Pitt to Cynthia Erivo,” quipped another user.

“Brad Pitt’s name tag at the Oscars luncheon deserves its own Oscar,” wrote another user.

For a man who needs no introduction, Brad sure did wear his tag like a badge of honour – but then again, if your name was Brad Pitt wouldn’t you do the same?
