Busy Philipps reveals she was raped when she was 14 years old

Cape Town – Busy Philipps is sharing her story.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, the 39-year-old revealed that she was raped when she was 14 years old.

“This is me at 14. The age I was raped. It's taken me 25 years to say those words,” Busy wrote alongside a headshot of her young self.

She added: “I wrote about it in my book. I finally told my parents and sister about it 4 months ago. Today is the day we are silent no more. All of us. I'm scared to post this. I can't imagine what Dr. Ford is feeling right now.”

Following her post, Busy received a flood of support from her followers and famous friends.

Celebs including Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Jenna Fischer and Sophia Bush expressed their love and support for the actress/writer/director in the comments section.
