Caitlyn Jenner seriously considering running for US Senate

Cape Town – Caitlyn Jenner is seriously considering running for office.

In an interview with John Catsimatidis on AM 970 in New York on Sunday, the reality TV star admitted that she has been questioning ways to make a bigger impact on the world and politics may just be it.

When asked about a rumour that she wants to run for US Senate in California, Caitlyn said: “I have considered it. I like the political side of it...it has always been intriguing to me.

“Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job.”

Caitlyn then posed the questions: “Can I do a better job from the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talk to anybody? Or are you better off from the inside?”

“We are in the process of determining that. Yea, but I would look for a senatorial run," she added.

This is not the first time Caitlyn has spoken of running for office to help better represent the LGBTQI community as a conservative republican.

In April the 67-year-old told CNN's Don Lemon that she has only recently thought more seriously about getting into politics.

Caitlyn said: “Yes, I would have to look, over the next year or two, look and see, can I do a better job on the outside or am I in a position now that I can do a better job for my community on the inside.

“And if that’s the case, if I find us on the inside, I would seriously look at it.”
