Camila Cabello apologises for racist posts: 'I can't say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel'

Cape Town – Camila Cabello is "deeply sorry" and "ashamed" for comments she posted when she was a teenager.

According to E! News, the South of the Border singer posted gifs, memes and comments containing the 'N-word' when she was younger. The posts resurfaced on Twitter this week. The tweet read, "Exposing Camila Cabello's racist and downright disturbing Tumblr reblogs: a thread." On Wednesday the 22-year-old issued an apology.

"I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart," she said. "When I was younger, I used language that I'm deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it. I apologised then and I apologise again now.

"I can't say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel," she said.
