Cardi B responds to backlash over resurfaced video in which she claims she drugged and robbed men

Los Angeles — Cardi B is trying to clarify herself after an Instagram Live video, she took three years ago, resurfaced online in which the rapper claimed she drugged and robbed men for money.

After the video resurfaced backlash progressed to the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB to trend online.

The Grammy winner then posted a statement on Tuesday on Instagram, saying that she had "very limited options" and needed to do anything to "survive." The former stripper added that she wasn't trying to glorify her actions, but felt it was necessary at the time.

Cardi further clarified that the men she spoke about in the video were men that she dated and was involved with and who were "conscious, willing and aware".
