Cape Town - Cardi B doesn’t want to be an old mom.
After confirming the pregnancy rumours – revealing her baby bump live on SNL – Cardi said even though she might have thought about it, she knew she wouldn’t go through with aborting her unborn baby.
She told American radio show, Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club: "I just didn't want to deal with the whole abortion thing. I just didn't want to."
Although some have concerns about what this pregnancy will do to her career, since the debut of her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy is still so fresh, Cardi believes she can have it all.
"I’m a grown woman, I’m 25 years old, and I’m gonna [sic] say this in the most humblest way: I’m a schmillionaire, I’m prepared for this."
Cardi went on to explain that she has no desire of being an old mommy, she wants to have children now while still young.
"I don't want to wait until I'm thirty-something to have a kid," she explained, "I want my kid now that I have energy and stuff."
And as for the naysayers, Cardi says she doesn’t understand why they think she can’t have both, a career and the joy of motherhood:
"It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like 'I feel sorry for you, your career is over' and it's like why can't I have both. Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? Why can't I have both? I want both."
According to Page Six, the Bodak Yellow singer feels the news around her pregnancy was harassment and an invasion of her privacy:
"I didn’t like that people [were] harassing me. I had a whole bunch of friends calling me like, 'Why did I have to find out [about your pregnancy] on the internet?'… It’s something so precious and private to me, and I didn’t even get to keep that for myself."
Nevertheless, Cardi is super excited and even hinted that she's expecting a baby girl, US Magazine reports.
