Cape Town - We’ve heard about making relationships “Facebook official”, but it seems the latest trend when things are over is to delete every trace of your ex and purging all photos posted on Instagram.

Wondering what to do with all those loved-up pictures of the two of you posted to your Instagram? Take your cue from these celebs!

Tens months of dating add up to plenty of Insta snaps – but looking at The Weeknd’s account, you’d never guess he and Selena Gomez (25) were an item. After their highly publicised break-up, the 28-year-old crooner cleaned up his social media good and proper, People reports.

Irina Shayk (32) deleted every trace of her time with her ex footballer bae, Christiano Ronaldo (33), on Instagram and did the same on Facebook for good measure. The pair called it quits amid cheating allegations in 2015, after five years together. According to Daily Mail, the Russian-born beauty discovered her handsome beau had been “secretly messaging girls all over the world”.

For the two years they were together, Nick Jonas (25) and former Miss Universe beauty Olivia Culpo (25) seemed like a match made in heaven. But unfortunately, a whirlwind romance is often followed by a bitter break-up – as Nick’s furious Insta-deleting frenzy after the pair called time on their romance proved. According to E! Online, their busy schedules and global jet-setting were the reason for the split. Despite her former flame’s purge, Olivia seemed to want to take the high road after the bust-up, leaving all her loved-up posts up for all the world to see.

She’s been through a few break-ups – and Taylor Swift’s exes rarely survive the post-split Insta-purge. When she and DJ Calvin Harris (34) called time on their romance, their aw-inducing posts were off the 28-year-old singer’s page faster than you can say “Look What You Made Me Do!”

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards (24) is no stranger to deleting all evidence of her relationships on Instagram. The talented singer deleted images of Zayn Malik (25) from her Instagram – and her life, and did the same to Arsenal soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (24) People reports. Luckily there was only one picture in his case, so slightly less life admin. They’ve since kissed and made up and seem pretty happy on Instagram.

Karrueche Tran (29) took to Instagram to delete every trace of her relationship with Chris Brown (28), in 2014. While she often deleted pictures of their romance during their on-off relationship, she made it clear she was done with Chris.

She later shared a deep Buddha quote via her Instagram confirming the end of the tumultuous relationship: “In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” Preach!
