Cape Town - Céline, is that you?

The 50-year-old songstress took to Instagram to share her dramatic new appearance with her more than two million followers.

“Tonight is the night! Tokyo, are you ready?” she captioned her post.

In the pic the Love Me Back to Life singer donned a colourful printed dress, Gucci scarf, Dior sunglasses and blue Saint Laurent pointed heels. To complete her look, she sported her new blonde hairdo – and a fringe.

Her snap garnered more than 166 000 likes, but fans were left feeling a bit confused.

“Are you Céline or are you Lady Gaga?” one fan commented.

“Sigh. I miss brunette Céline. This is just . . . bad,” another said.

But not everyone thought her new look was a disaster. Several were more upbeat about the change.

“OMG. QUEEN. QUEEN. QUEEN. Love the look,” one excited fan wrote.

“Not only is she a chanteuse but also a fashion icon!” said another.

This isn’t the first time the mom-of-three’s fashion sense has been questioned.

In 1999 Celine was labelled the worst dressed at the Oscars after wearing her infamous “backwards tuxedo”.

Last year in an Interview with People the Canadian revealed that fashion became a source of happiness after her husband and manager, René Angélil, died in 2016.

“It’s amazing how a little bit of fantasy can alter our moods,” Céline said.

“I’ve always loved fashion, from as far back as I can remember.

“But, as everyone knows, I’ve gone through some extremely difficult times in recent years, and I suppose that I’m spreading my wings a little bit more these days, and doing so with the help of beautiful clothing and accessories.”
