Johannesburg – Canadian singer Céline Dion's mother, Thérèse, has died at the age of 92.
According to The New York Post, Thérèse died late Thursday at her home, surrounded by her family and friends.
Céline, who is currently on her Courage World Tour, shared a post on Instagram, dedicating her Miami show to her late mom.
"Maman, we love you so much… we dedicate tonight's show to you and I'll sing with all my heart. Love, Céline xx," the singer wrote.
A clip shared on Twitter shows Céline pausing her concert to talk about her mother's death.
"I know for sure that she wanted me to be the best of myself tonight. And I also know that she wanted all of you to have the time of your life," she is heard saying as the crowd cheers in support.
According to a Montreal news agency, CTV News, Thérèse Dion was affectionately known as "Maman Dion" in Quebec where the family hails from. The mother of 14's popularity led to her starting her own food product line and later becoming the host of a cooking show, the publication reveals.
