Cape Town - Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan just took a major step in settling their divorce.

The Logan Lucky actor and the former World of Dance host are reportedly set to go through a “case resolution conference” that will quicken the pair’s divorce process, E! Online reports.

Documents obtained by the media reportedly state that the former couple’s lawyers will meet beforehand to solve financial issues and determine whether they’ll be requesting an expert witness.

After that process is complete, the pair, who announced their split eight months ago, will appear in front of a judge to determine when their divorce will be settled.

“We look forward to resolving these matters in a timely and straightforward way,” Jenna’s lawyer Samantha Spector said.

“Nothing in the world matters more to Jenna than the comfort and well-being of her daughter, Everly.

“Everything Jenna has done and will continue to do is with that in mind.”

Despite their decision to split, the couple remain on good terms and still spend time with their daughter together, InStyle reports.

“We’re just getting used to it. We’re in a very positive energy together, trying to be the best parents to Everly. We support each other,” Jenna said.

“I feel a sense of joy and freedom and excitement, truly, about a new chapter in my life.”

Jenna has been laying low since the split but spoke candidly about how she navigated through the transition.

“I’m obviously super aware that people know me, they know Channing, they know us together,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

“We’d been a beloved couple for a long time.

“I didn’t run away from my feelings. I let myself cry. I let myself grieve. This is one of those situations where I’ll see the light. The dawn is coming.”
