Cape Town - Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum announced their separation in a joint statement to fans on Monday.
Following the announcement, rumours started flying about what caused the duo to split up.
Amongst the many other speculations, it was reported that Channing’s alleged "drinking" and "flirting" was the reason for their split.
However, both Channing and Jenna's representatives reiterated that there were no salacious details behind the split.
“Happy to clarify that absolutely none of these rumours are true,” a rep for the actress told People.com.
“The reason our statement was so positive [was] because that’s the reality of the situation,” the rep further said.
The former couple, who share a 4-year-old daughter named Everly announced they were separating after nearly nine years of marriage in a joint statement, saying that they have decided to "lovingly separate as a couple".
"The media is fabricating stories and none of these accusations are remotely true," a rep for Channing told E! News.
"Channing and Jenna released an honest and loving statement which is the only truth."
Concerning the rumor that it was Channing’s behavior which was what had led to the couple separting, the rep said: "These are not issues, this is fiction. “
“We understand that everyone is super interested in speculating on their private life and that there are people who think they have an idea of the inner life of this relationship, but it's simply not the case,” said the rep
“They are lovingly deciding to continue their lives together as friends and parents of Everly because that's how their relationship has grown."
