Cheryl Cole brushes off Liam Payne split rumours

Cape Town – Cheryl Cole is totally unfazed by rumours that she and her former One Direction member beau Liam Payne are headed for splitsville.

Rumours have been circulating that the 34-year-old X Factor judge and the 24-year-old hitmaker are calling it quits.

According to The Sun Liam has been keen to settle down, however Cheryl has rejected his suggestions of marriage prompting Liam to hire a lawyer to protect his fortune in case of a breakup.

Despite the rumours, Cheryl showed up to the official opening of The Prince’s Trust Cheryl’s Trust Centre on Tuesday in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England full of smiles.

The former Girls Aloud member told the BBC there’s nothing to worry about after she was asked if she is frustrated that the breakup rumours may overshadow the opening of the centre.

“Do I find it frustrating? No, it doesn’t bother me. My focus is solely on this, it’s taken seven years to get here and none of that matters. This is the most important part for me.”

And it appears to be just as important to Liam, who commented on an Instagram post Cheryl shared from the event.

E! News reports Liam commented on the photo: “Very proud of you! How you find the time to do this I'll never know. Over many years you've put all this together and put your heart into such a great cause! I hope one day I can do the same.”
