Cape Town - Since actors Chris Pratt (38) and Anna Faris (41) announced their divorce, Chris has been pretty close-mouthed about his personal life.

But in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine for its Summer Movie Preview sssue, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star revealed that splitting up after eight years of marriage wasn’t easy.

“Divorce sucks,” Chris says. “But at the end of the day we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much.

“And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to each other. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.”

Anna - who’s dating Michael Barret (47), the cinematographer of her upcoming film, Overboard - also opened up to actor Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast in March and revealed that their life wasn’t picture perfect, according to The Fix.

“We intentionally cultivated this idea of like, ‘Look at this beautiful family,’” the Mom star said.

“There were so many moments that were like that but like anything on social media you don’t post like, ‘Where the f**k is the toilet paper?!’ or whatever. I think it’s a hard forum to be genuine, and I think it does a disservice to people to not be.”

In August 2017, the pair, who have a five-year-old son, Jack, announced they were separating in a joint statement on Instagram.

“We’re sad to announce we’re legally separating,” the statement read. “We tried really hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together,” the statement read.

Chris filed for divorce in December citing irreconcilable differences.

The actors are now seeking joint custody of their son, US Weekly reports.
