Cape Town - Songstress Ciara got candid on why she decided to call off her engagement with ex-fiancé Future.

The 33-year-old, who recently released her seventh studio album Beauty Marks, broke off her engagement with the father of her son and rapper Future just three-months after they welcomed Future Jr.

She revealed this in an interview on Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk with show host Jada Pinkett Smith.

“The one thing I fear in life is really wasting my life,” she said. “I really fear that ‘cause you realize that time does not stop and it will be the worst scenario to stay in a situation that it’s just not healthy, it’s not going to get any better. I realized that I have to start making different decisions,” she continued.

The mother-of-two, who later met and married the love of her life Russell Wilson, revealed after her split from Future following cheating rumours she cried because she wasn’t in her “happiest place.”

“I'd have moments in the shower when I would be crying,” she said.

“I had a few moments when I'd be crying in different settings—crying in the bedroom, crying in the shower...I'd be crying because I am not in the happiest place, and it hurts what I'm going through.”

The Level Up hitmaker recalled the pain she felt, especially because she had just welcomed their son and didn’t want to be a single mother, “None of it was ideal,” she added.

“I feel like I'm failing right now, [people are] gonna roast me, here they come in the comment section. I'm about to get fried.' All that stuff, it's real. You can't help but to think of it.”

Despite all of this, Ciara managed to turn her scars into beauty marks and couldn’t be happier with her blended family further revealing that she wanted, “two more kids” with her husband Russel.
