In a candid interview with Marie Claire, Dakota Johnson recently opened up about her battle with depression, which started when she was just a teenager.
"I’ve struggled with depression since I was young – since I was 15 or 14. That was when, with the help of professionals, I was like, 'Oh, this is a thing I can fall into'."
The How To Be Single star went on to talk about how therapy has helped her deal with her depression, while also discussing the anxiety brought on by the Covid-19 crisis.
"I’m constantly thinking about the state of the world right now. It keeps me up at night, all night, every night. My brain goes to crazy dark places with it," she explained.
"My brain moves at a million miles per minute. I have to do a lot of work to purge thoughts and emotions, and I am in a lot of therapy."
The 30-year-old is currently self-isolating with boyfriend and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, according to Vogue. The couple were recently spotted smiling as they took Zeppelin, the actress’ dog for a walk.
"I’ve learned to find it beautiful because I feel the world," Dakota said of her struggle with depression and where she is now in her interview. "I guess I have a lot of complexities, but they don’t pour out of me."
